For me I love both physics and literature but Im concerned that it will be too tough to try to get degrees in both. Well, Jon (and others who were wondering the same thing), there are different options you can follow to study multiple fields. For two related fields (like Course 7 and 9, for instance) its obviously more convenient to double-major than for two unrelated fields, but that doesnt mean that for unrelated fields, it cant be done. As you asked about Physics (Course 8) and Literature (Course 21L), lets use those as an example: No matter what your major is, you have to get credit for 8.01 (Physics 1), 8.02 (Physics 2), 18.01 (Single-Variable Calc), 18.02 (Multi-Variable Calc), 5.11x (Chemistry), 7.01x (Biology), and eight humanities classes (the humanities requirement is more complicated than that, but we wont get distracted by that here). In fact, you have to take more than 48 units at least one term in order to graduate in four years. Luckily, many departments offer a flexible option (such as 2A, 7A, or 8B), which is intended for students with multiple academic interests. Since were already looking at Course 8, lets look at 8B, for which you need: 18.03 (Differential Equations) 8.03 (Physics 3 Waves and Vibrations) 8.04 (Quantum Mechanics) 8.044 (Statistical Mechanics) 8.05 (Quantum 2) OR 8.033 (Relativity) OR 8.20 (Intro to Special Relativity) 8.13 (first half of Junior Lab) OR non-physics lab of similar intensity One other physics subject Three subjects forming an intellectually coherent unit in some area other than physics Now, this is ideal for a double-major because your three intellectually coherent unit subjects can be in your second major. So if you dont count those, this program requires about 90 units beyond the GIRs, as opposed to the 156 from the original physics program. Because you still need 270 units beyond the GIRs, youre still going to have to take close to the same large number of units as before, but a lot more of them can be used for whatever you want, not just your majors. But what if you want to study two fields in depth, but without so many units? If your two fields are a science field and a humanities field (as in this case) or an engineering field and a humanities field, theres a completely different degree option you can take 21S (for science/humanities) or 21E (for engineering/humanities). For either of these degrees, you take a bunch of subjects in your science or engineering field, and a bunch of subjects in your humanities field, and youre awarded a single degree that indicates both fields of concentration. If none of these appeals to you, you could simply minor or concentrate (a concentration is sort of a humanities mini-minor that you have to do if youre not majoring or minoring in humanities) in your second field.

One time when I visited my father s office at the end of the day I noticed a younger man waiting in the back of the office in the parking lot. I remember his cloth es looking a bit worn and he had a shopping basket which I could see a pillow and a large discolored comforter. I signaled to my dad that there was a man waiting in the parking lot. As my dad approached the parking lot I could see the mans faces begin to light up and smile form. The man began to greet my dad and to my surprise the man knew my father s name. After they talked for a little while me and my dad left and the man stayed behind unpacking his cart in the parking lot. I asked my father what the man wanted and he began to tell me the young man s story and how he was a veteran who had a mental illness and is now homeless. My father was letting the man sleep in the parking under the buildings awnings. My father was reputable for these small acts of kindness and he always spoke of helping others. He is the reason I believe myself to have hospitable, charitable and trustworthy traits. And also why I try to radiate positivity and be affirming. I also get many of my traits from my mother. I always remember having a special connection with my mother. I would help her out around the house and watch in amazement as she would design, build, and fix things around

En este caso, el oficial consular informar en detalle sobre quà © documentos se precisan y cà ³mo deben ser enviados al consulado una vez que se obtengan. En estos casos es importantà ­simo tener en cuenta que hay un plazo que se especifica para proveer esa informacià ³n. Luego de ese tiempo sin haber entregado la documentacià ³n, la peticià ³n de visa es cancelada y si se desea sacar la visa se tendr que volver a aplicar desde el principio. Y, en segundo lugar, el procedimiento administrativo 221g puede darse por cualquier otra razà ³n. Desde coincidencia en nombre y fecha de nacimiento con otra persona, a informacià ³n variada que pueda tener el consulado y que necesita contrastar antes de tomar una decisià ³n.   Otro ejemplo puede suceder cuando quien solicita la visa ha sido militar en un paà ­s considerado como no amistoso. Incluso este problema le puede surgir a empresarios, inversores y cientà ­ficos de algà ºn modo relacionados con tecnologà ­a considerada sensible o de doble uso y que est incluida en la  Technology Alert List. Pero en la mayorà ­a de los casos se trata de asuntos ms comunes, como cuando se sospecha criminalidad por parte del solicitante de la visa o cuando se precisa que una oficina dependiente del gobierno federal de los Estados Unidos realice verificaciones. Por ejemplo, cuando se sospecha que uno de los documentos presentados al aplicar por la visa es falso o lo es alguna de las declaraciones y afirmaciones realizadas en las planillas para su solicitud. Hay que tener siempre presente que las mentiras en este contexto son fraude de ley y puede tener consecuencias muy serias con respecto a las opciones para obtener la visa americana.  ¿Cunto tiempo se demora resolver el procedimiento administrativo 221g? Cada caso es un mundo y no se puede establecer una regla general. Si bien es cierto que en la mayorà ­a de los casos hay una respuesta definitiva antes de que pasen 60 dà ­as, se sabe de casos en los que la demora ha llegado a los ocho meses o ms. Si la demora es mayor a lo habitual, debe consultar con un abogado si procede demandar mediante un writ of mandamus.  ¿En quà © consiste el procedimiento administrativo 221g? En cuanto a en quà © consiste este trmite administrativo 221g, hay dos posibles respuestas. Por un lado puede simplemente consistir en conseguir la documentacià ³n que se necesita y no se ha presentado. En este caso el consulado entrega un papel que dice detalladamente quà © documentacià ³n falta y dà ³nde y cà ³mo se debe entregar. En este caso debe seguir al pie de la letra esas instrucciones. Pero, por otro lado, puede que el trmite consista en una investigacià ³n por parte de una oficina que de algà ºn modo depende de un organismo federal de los Estados Unidos. Por ejemplo, se pueden verificar los antecedentes penales del solicitante o que realmente trabaja donde dice que lo hace. Incluso se puede enviar a un investigador a verificar la realidad de un matrimonio, etc. En este caso la tramitacià ³n va a depender del tipo de problema que se intenta resolver.  ¿Puede pedirse una tramitacià ³n de urgencia de la visa en este caso? No. Es irrelevante que se quiera la visa para empezar un curso, asistir a una boda, cerrar un negocio, etc. o que ya se hubiera pagado el viaje y el boleto de avià ³n. En ningà ºn caso es posible solicitar una tramitacià ³n de urgencia. Por esta razà ³n se recomienda encarecidamente no comprar tickets ni pagar reservas de viajes antes de tener la visa en mano.  ¿Puede verificarse cà ³mo se encuentra el caso? Si se ha solicitado una visa no inmigrante, tipo turista, estudiante, intercambio, trabajo temporal o semejantes se puede acceder a informacià ³n ms bien generalista sobre el estado de la tramitacià ³n de la visa en la pgina oficial del Departamento de Estado habilitada para ello. Si en el papel que se entrega donde se comunica que la solicitud est en trmite administrativo 221g se indica un mà ©todo distinto de verificacià ³n, debe seguir esas indicaciones. En ambos supuestos  se enviar el pasaporte a su titular por el procedimiento que sea habitual en el consulado donde se solicità ³ la visa. El consulado puede negar la aprobacià ³n de una visa por razones que caen en dos grandes categorà ­as: Por causa de ineligibilidad, que es la ms comà ºn y aplica solamente a las visas no inmigrantes, como la de turista, estudiante, inversià ³n, intercambio, etc., o por alguna de  las  causas de inadmisibilidad  que impiden el ingreso a Estados Unidos, y que aplican tanto a las visas no inmigrante como de las de migrante. Cuanto  sucede una causa de inadmisibilidad, a veces es posible pedir un perdà ³n, tambià ©n conocido como waiver o permiso. This discussion paper will examine the arguments targeting the auditing profession that blamed auditors for not performing their responsibilities and for not doing enough to detect and prevent these cases of fraudulent activities of major corporations in the US. This discussion is supported by presenting details of five important accounting fraud cases which made the headlines and in some cases where auditors were also involved in assisting management in their malpractices. The auditors’ role is primarily viewed as that of verification of financial statements prepared by businesses. However, traditional view of it remained that auditors are responsible for detecting and preventing accounting frauds. The transition from this view to that of independent verification of financial statements was led by emergence of huge conglomerates where shareholdings are dispersed and the concentration of auditors’ investigation is not on the management’s honesty in preparing their accounts (Singh 2003). ISA 200 provides details of overall responsibilities of independent auditor and sets out the scope and nature of audit activities to be performed in accordance with international auditing standards. It states that the auditors’ role is to increase the confidence of users of financial statements by making a presentation on all material aspects of information disclosed in financial statements. However, it emphasizes that auditors do not relieve management from their role in corporate governance and ensuring the correctness of information provided in financial statement. Jealousy in Romantic Relationships Roxy Ghamgosarnia Stetson University In today’s society, we witness that the majority of romantic relationships suffer and falter. Numbers show marriages that end in divorce have sky rocketed. The question persists why? What causes so much dysfunction in a romantic relationship? A topic I found to be intriguing was jealousy. Present in all humans and in platonic and romantic relationships, jealousy has become an unexplainable phenomenon in which researchers are diving into in hopes of identifying the source of this detrimental emotion.Of course with such a loaded and complex topic, it’s hard to uproot all information because there are so many directions and scenarios. However, this being said, I was able to read about some studies and observations researchers have inducted. In my research I concluded that jealousy has no real definition, but rather is a collection of negative emotions that emerge when one person feels they are loosing power over something they think they posses. (Goodboy, Horan, Booth-Butterfield, 2012:374).Because there are different types of lovers (eros, ludus, storge, pragma, mania and agape), there are different reactions to jealousy and a correlation between ludus and mania lovers to evoke jealousy in their relationship. Through reading about a specific scenario involving jealousy in cross-sex friendship whilst being in a committed monogamous relationship I determined that jealousy opens the door to other interpersonal communication factors. For example ones non-verbal behavior is greatly affected. (Williams, 2005).I wanted to really invest time in understanding how different situations call for jealousy and the non-verbal reactions that begin to emerge through this negative emotion. In my prospective research I wanted to test how jealousy brews between a couples that have been in a committed heterosexual monogamous relationship. I decided for my first investigation to focus more on the jea lousy that a woman would express because I was personally more familiar with it. I will carry out my methodology in two parts, first an observational analysis and following that an in-depth private interview.In my experimentation I would make sure to have written consent from a couple that have been dating for at least six months and who are both between 21-30 years of age. I will explain to my subjects that they are about to undergo a psychological experiment but are not able to be told intricate details because it may skew the results. I will make sure to have a clear and concise written contract that explains my experiment is not intended to cause any personal conflict, or to harm them in any way.For example, an excerpt from that written contract may be: â€Å"I ____________ hereby understand that the information that will be observed in the evenings progression is strictly confidential. No section of this experiment is instituted to cause damage in physicality or emotionally bu t is rather for the purposes of education and to be studied my professionals in the field. I understand the curators of the experiment are not responsible for my actions or reactions, but rather have the intent to gain knowledge from the study.At anytime it is my right to leave the room if I feel uncomfortable. † After my subjects understand their rights and identify my responsibilities I will progress with the experiment. The â€Å"Model† (which I will explain later) is not a volunteer and will be paid for working with me, so a level of professionalism is definitely necessary. There too, will be an employee contract as to protect both the agent and the principal. I wished to set up my methodology in a contemporary way.The observation portion will be as follows: once consent is given my subjects will be instructed to attend a semi-formal gathering among their peers. This gathering will be a social banquet, perhaps associated with a charitable event such as to create mor e mystery for the subjects so they don’t foresee the elements of the procedure that I have set up. I would certainly avoid and places such as a nightclub or bar, where there would be increased tension and the risk of my subjects become intoxicated.Through out the course of the evening there will be a third element to my experiment. This would be the Model, or M. M would have to be an attractive lady in her early to mid twenties who during the succession of the event will purposefully approach the couple and insert herself in conversation with the couple, paying closer attention to the male in the relationship. Her job is to be extraverted and friendly. She will be wearing an ear device that will have me instructing her on how to keep conversation as I will be watching and hearing everything from a private room.What I will be looking for is the verbal and non-verbal reactions from the female in the relationship. How she reacts to certain things that M says like â€Å"Oh, I am currently not seeing anybody its so difficult to find a decent man nowadays. † While not breaking eye contact with the Male. After the event has finished the couple will be instructed by a personnel to meet with me for the second portion of the experiment. The second method I will use for my study is an in depth interview with both the male and the female in the relationship.Each interview will be done separately and privately. I will explain that what the study specifically was about, telling them that it was an observation of body language and interpersonal non-verbal communication. I then will proceed to ask a few questions on what they were thinking and how they felt at different parts of the evening when M was present. I will be able to play back the footage and point out key moments where I think that they displayed some sort of negativity.Ultimately I am trying to discover if in the situation that was provided the female in the study felt any sort of jealousy towards t he M and if the male was able to effectively pick up on her reactions. Some interview questions will include, but are not limited to: Were you aware of the body language and looks that your girlfriend was doing? How did you feel when you saw the other lady? Were you aware of your body language? Many of the questions I ask depend of course on what I see and what I hear so I cannot give a clear and accurate outline at this time.But, the questions will be formatted to help me better understand the emotions felt during the experimentations. Even if there were no feelings of jealousy it will still be interesting to be able to understand peoples reactions to situations that involve their significant other. After a few different couples I am positive that my results will allow me to draw some parallels, and in other cases there would be no correlation in emotional responses. This would further validate my theory that jealousy is subjective and situational depending on each different person . Spitzberg, Cupach, 2010). In order to protect my subjects’ privacy, I would keep their identity a secret. The only people that would really know who they are would be myself and the person I chose to hire as M who would be liable to keep confidentiality. In my published results I would refer to the female as X and the male as Y. I will store all information on my laptop which is password locked. All digital footage shall be locked in a secure filing cabinet and destroyed once the procedure is completed.Like an experiment there are a few limitations that should be considered. For one, budget. I would have to have substantial funds in order to purchase the equipment I need and to organize a set up that would be appropriate. The next would be finding the right couple to conduct this experiment on, which would easily give consent for the study. For future research I would greatly like to reverse the roles. Using a male M and observing the reactions and interpersonal communicati ons that the male in the relationship would demonstrate.Repeated trials would allow for a better and cleared understanding as results can vary drastically from one another. Also, perhaps this can be conducted using homosexual couples in order the see if there are any similarities or differences in the results. All in all, I feel that my implemented methodology would effectively allow me to test how jealousy may brew in a situational setting in a committed, monogamous relationship. Because jealousy is such a deep emotion that also is affiliated with other negative emotions it is difficult to plug in a formula and measure it.However, with this study, it will allow one to observe first hand how non-verbal communication is so prominent in our everyday interactions especially in one which we feel uncomfortable in. Through my read research I better understand what factors can possibly lead to jealousy and I wanted to put my understanding to the test and create a compelling, creative and c ontemporary study. Motifs of Revenge and Procrastination in Hamlet Essay

In Hamlet by William Shakespeare, the playwright uses the motifs of revenge and procrastination, to demonstrate that both of these motifs will always bring corruption and harm to those that make use of them. Revenge is a concept introduced into the play from the very start when the Ghost appears and speaks with Hamlet. Immediately after the Ghost of his father tells him to seek vengeance, Hamlet quickly becomes charged with anger and exclaims, â€Å"I with wings as swift as meditation or the thoughts of love may sweep to my revenge† (Shakespeare I, v, 29-31). Hamlet is optimistic about his revenge and even to the end believes it will bring justice and sanity back to everyone.
